Sharing and Exporting Specifications

What is specification sharing?

TraceGains provides options for sharing specifications with either internal or external stakeholders. When sharing externally, an email attachment is created and used. Internal sharing can be done through either an email attachment or exporting a file to save to your local device.

 

Why are there different types of sharing?

TraceGains has different sharing options because internal stakeholders often interact with a specification differently than external groups.

 

How to share specifications to internal stakeholders

Step 1: Navigate to an existing Primary Specification.

Step 2: Click the blue Hamburger Menu.

Step 3: Click 'Internal (Email/Export)'.

Step 4: Choose the correct Specification Template from the list of options.

Step 5: Select the sections of the specification to be shared.

Step 6: Click 'Next'.

Step 7: Choose from the following sharing options:

Step 8: Click 'Share'.

 

How to share specifications to external stakeholders

Step 1: Navigate to an existing Primary Specification.

Step 2: Click the blue Hamburger Menu.

Step 3: Click 'External (Email)'.

Step 4: Select the appropriate Email Profile.

Step 5: Select which supplier(s) to share the specification with.

Step 6: Determine whether suppliers can make changes to the specification by checking/unchecking the Read Only box.

Step 7: Click 'Next'.

Step 8: Click 'Share'.
