What is a formula in TraceGains?
A Formula is a centralized location that manages recipe, documentation, and process information related to creating or enhancing a food, packaging, or dietary supplement product.
Why keep formulas in the same place?
Product development teams need to see all recipe variations and comparison data at once to quickly gain insight and drive better decisions.
How to Create a New Formula
Step 1: Navigate to the Formulas Tab.
Step 2: Select New.
Step 3: Select your Formula Type from the list of options:
- Food: Edible material(s) for consumption or use
- Packaging: Material(s) used for containing or wrapping goods
- Supplement: Vitamin, mineral, herbal extract, or chemical compound used to augment a diet.
Step 4: Enter a Formula Name, Formula ID, Version based on your company’s naming conventions, select a Column Template, and click Continue.
Your new formula is now ready to go. It’s time to create a new recipe and start innovating!
