Configuration Workbook Tabs Overview

Summary

The TraceGains Configuration Workbook is a Microsoft Excel-based tool developed to help Customers collect and organize their data on any company, Supplier, and Item. Once the key configuration data is collected and loaded into TraceGains, you'll do final configuration within TraceGains itself. Below is a quick breakdown of what should be included in each tab of the Configuration Workbook.

Workbook Tabs

Suppliers

This tab is used to collect Supplier information including Supplier IDs, Names, Addresses, and key Contact data. This information is important for your site to run smoothly, and particularly for communicating with your Supplier contacts.

Items & COA Specs

This tab has two main roles. If you are an SM (Supplier Management) Customer, you are only required to fill out your master Item information.

Example: Item ID, Item Name, and Item Group.

However, if you are an SC (Supplier Compliance) Customer, you will also need to provide additional specification information about your raw material and packaging Item Attributes. These additional Item-Attribute specifications are used to identify whether or not a Supplier's COA (Certificate of Analysis) data meets your specifications within the system.

Supplier Item XRef (eXternal Reference)

This tab collects and associates unique Suppliers with unique Items, as well as capturing Supplier part codes for your Items.

Supplier Required Documents

This tab collects and organizes the list of Supplier-facility-level (Location-level) documents you will require from your Suppliers. TraceGains has established a standard best-practice list of document types that can make the selection process a bit easier.

Item Required Documents

This tab collects and organizes the list of Item-level document types you will require from your Suppliers. TraceGains has also established a standard best-practice list of documents for this.
