New Standards for FSMA 204 Compliance
The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 establishes enhanced traceability requirements for foods listed on the FDA’s Food Traceability List (FTL). Manufacturers handling FTL items must maintain records of Key Data Elements (KDEs) and Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) to ensure rapid response during recalls or food safety investigations. The compliance deadline for FSMA 204 is January 1, 2026.
To support industry compliance, TraceGains convened a working group that developed new Supplier-Level and Item-Level Standards, now integrated into the Supplier and Item Questionnaires. The new standards will allow manufacturers to assess supplier readiness, identify potential compliance gaps, and implement necessary traceability measures ahead of enforcement.

Role-Based Filtering
Adding role-based filters, users are now able to enable customers, especially those with multiple sites, to filter and define specific controls based on the specific role level. This grants greater control when setting up visibility and access to potentially sensitive information.
Table Template Enhancements
Audits can be very long, often including information which may be unnecessary, or even inappropriate. With these latest enhancements, TraceGains offers new options to improve the flow of data within the audit trail. Suppliers will have access to the audit trail to reply or complete their respective sections of the audit.
Improved ability to collapse sections within the table template offers greater control regarding visibility. By clicking on the carat on the right side of the section of the audit, that section may be compacted, thus collapsing that specific section.
Audits may now utilize cascading options to help better navigate which further information is required, based on previous responses. By clicking if the eye icon in the Show/Hide column, a window will pop up to manage the visibility options. Select the desired functionality and save. Once a row is set to not show, the entire row will highlight in red.
Note: Please be aware that Data will be deleted for any row(s) not showing.
When Visibility Based on Cascading is selected, additional information will be required to continue the cascading steps. When a row is designated to follow these rules, the eye icon in the right column will appear red. Additionally, if the entire section should be hidden, there is a Hide Section available at the top of the entire section. Columns may also be hidden by selecting the icon directly to the left of the Hide Section.
All of the saved information will appear in the desired cascading and/or hidden steps in the audit.
Formula Collaboration
Customers with the Finished Goods and Formula Management modules can now share and collaborate on formulas with co-manufacturing partners. Customers can control and manage partner specific variations of a formula. Customers can also share a library of pre-approved items, suppliers, and associated documents for partners to assess and use in shared formulas.

Combined Packaging Report
With the new Combined Packaging Report, users now have the ability to visualize and share all of the labeling elements with one single report. - Statement of Identity
- Net quantity of contents or amount of product
- Nutrition Facts Label
- Ingredient and Allergens statement
- Name and address information for the manufacturer, packer, or distributer
This report may be printed, exported to PDF, or the image copied to the clipboard.
Notes and Process Steps Report
The improved Packaging Notes and Process Steps Report allows for additional storage and documentation of the specific steps used in the creation of the recipe. Additional information and notes may be added as necessary.
