The side navigation for the Formulas tab is additionally collapsible, improving visual clarity, and features bold text and icons to highlight your current location when applicable.
Formula Management
The following updates are part of a larger enhancement aimed at improving batch sheet functionality, which will be continued in future releases.
Process Steps Enhancements:
- Alternates can now be added in the process steps, allowing for primary, secondary, etc. ingredients.
- Subtotaling of ingredients in process steps has been introduced.
Implementation Details:
- Alternates can be assigned to different process steps based on their characteristics. For example, an alternate cheese with different melting characteristics can be assigned to a different step.

NutriCalc
Mexico Label
A new Mexican label report has been added, available in both standard and dual column formats.
Standard format:
- The standard Mexican label is based on a 100-gram weight, regardless of the actual container weight.
- The container weight is used to calculate the energy per container value displayed on the label.
Dual Column format:
- The dual column label includes a second column for a specified serving size, in addition to the standard 100-gram column.
- The serving size for the second column can be pre-populated from the recipe's serving size or manually entered.
Export functionality:
The Mexican label supports the same export functionality as other labels, ensuring ease of use and consistency.
These updates provide users withe the ability to generate compliant Mexican labels, enhancing the flexibility and functionality of the labelling process.
Persistent Calculation Settings
A new calculation dropdown menu has been added to the Reports page, allowing users to select and set a default calculation method for reports.
Section-Based and Default Settings:
- Users can select a calculation method for the current recipe, which will apply to all reports generated at that moment.
- A default calculation method can be set, which will remain across different sessions and recipes, ensuring consistency in the calculation method used.
Eliminating confusion:
- This feature aims to reduce confusion and the need for manual selection of calculation methods each time a report is generated.
- It ensures the users are consistently working with the correct calculation method, minimizing the risk of errors.
Consistency with TraceGains:
- The changes align with planned updates within TraceGains, ensuring a consistent user interface and experience across platforms.
- These enhancements streamline the process of selecting and maintaining calculation settings, improving user experience and accuracy in report generation.
Reformulating Recipes by Pound and Ounce Weight
Introduction of Imperial Weight Measures:
- Pounds (lbs) and ounces (oz) have been added to the recipe formulation process, allowing users to work with these units of measure alongside grams and kilograms.
- This change addresses the needs of US-based customers who frequently use imperial measures in their recipes.
Enhanced Edit Grid Functionality:
- The edit grid has been improved to handle conversions between grams, kilograms, pounds, and ounces seamlessly.
- Users can now change the unit of measure without losing data, ensuring accurate calculations and consistency.
Practical Implications:
- Users can add ingredients in pounds or ounces directly, simplifying the process of recipe formulation.
- The system automatically updates values when switching between units, preventing manual recalculations and potential errors.
These enhancements aim to provide greater flexibility and accuracy in recipe formulation, catering to the diverse needs of users who work with different units of measure.
Ability to use Pound and Ounce Weights for Individual Ingredient Entry
This is a new feature, allowing users to add ingredients in ounces and pounds directly within the recipe formulation process.
Enhanced Functionality:
- The edit grid has been updated to seamlessly support conversions betweem grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds.
- When changing the unit of measurement for an ingredient, the system automatically updates the quantity values, ensuring accurate calculations.
- The quantity column remains visible at all times, providing clarity on the values for each unit of measure.
- The gram quantity column displays the amount in grams, regardless if the initial unit of measure used when entering the the ingredient. Grams and milligrams are used for displaying nutrient amounts and on the label.
Practical Benefits:
- This new feature caters to users who prefer working with imperial units, particularly those in the US markets.
- It simplifies the process of ingredient entry and ensures consistency across different measurement units.
These updates enhance the flexibility and accuracy of ingredient entry, making it easier for users to work with various measurement units in recipes.
