Overview
Translation Packs allow system language to be customized by exporting translation files, modifying system text, and importing updated translations back into TraceGains.
This provides a way to align system terminology with internal language preferences while maintaining supported translations across the platform.
Translation customization supports:
- Exporting system translation files
- Updating system labels and field text outside the system
- Importing updated translations back into TraceGains
- Applying consistent terminology across supported languages
Export Translation Files
When a translation file is exported, it contains system text used throughout TraceGains.
This may include:
- System labels
- Field names
- Configurable interface text
Each entry includes a system identifier and its associated translation value.
Update Translation Values
After exporting, translation values can be modified using a spreadsheet application. You can update wording to align with internal terminology standards.
Important: System identifiers and file structure must not be modified.
Import Updated Translations
Once changes are complete, the updated file can be imported back into TraceGains.
After import, updated translations are applied when users view the system in the selected language.
System Behavior Considerations
- Translation behavior follows the feature availability described in Translation Packs Overview article.
- Some system fields may not be available for translation (e.g., structured data such as addresses)
- Certain interface elements remain in English depending on system configuration
- Translation behavior may vary across modules and content types
- Not all content is fully translatable across all languages
- Some system-generated text may be excluded from export files
