Overview
TraceGains AI can help you prepare a formulation for a bench trial and capture what you learn during testing.
Scale a formulation
Before making a sample, ask the AI Agent to scale the formulation to the batch size you need.
For example:
Sample prompt: Give me this at 1000 g.
The AI Agent scales the formulation proportionally while maintaining the existing ingredient ratios.
Plan what to evaluate
You can also ask the AI Agent what you should evaluate during the bench trial.
For example:
Sample prompt: What should I evaluate during the bench trial for this formulation?
Review the AI Agent's recommendations and determine which checks are appropriate for your trial.
Record targets and results in the Lab Notebook
Use Lab Notebook to capture information from your trial, including targets and actual results.
Depending on what you're evaluating, you can record information using:
- Composition: Composition-related targets and results
- Nutrition: Nutrition-related targets and results
- Process and Packaging: Processing and packaging targets and results
- Notes: Additional observations or information from the trial
Capture sensory results
Use Sensory to record observations from a product evaluation. Select the product form that applies:
- Liquid
- Semi Solid
- Solid
- Powder/Dry
- Frozen
Score the attributes you evaluated, then save the results with the formulation.
Troubleshoot a bench result
If a trial doesn't turn out as expected, tell the AI Agent what happened and ask it to help identify potential contributors.
For example:
Sample prompt: The protein bar came out too firm after the bench trial. What could be causing it?
Review the possible contributors before changing the formulation. The AI Agent can also recommend what to evaluate in your next trial so you can use what you learned at the bench to determine your next step.
