Overview
Before you begin working in Specification Management, it's helpful to understand how specifications are organized and what you may need before collaborating with suppliers.
In Specification Management, you can manage specifications across three areas:
- Raw Materials
- Packaging
- Finished Good
Select the appropriate area based on the type of specification you want to work with.
Before you get started
What you need depends on how you plan to use Specification Management.
If you're collaborating with a supplier, you may need to establish the appropriate supplier and item connections before you can share specification information.
Connect with a supplier
If you plan to collaborate directly with a supplier in Specification Management, you must first be connected with the supplier in the TraceGains Network.
For instructions, see Connect to Suppliers From Supplier Management.
Connect items
Connecting the items involved in your specifications is also recommended, although it is optional.
For instructions on connecting supplier items, see Connect to Suppliers From Supplier Management.
Next steps
Once you have the connections you need, you're ready to begin working with specifications.
From here, you can create a specification or begin collaborating with a supplier.
