Overview
WebCenter Go integrates with TraceGains Specification Management to support packaging artwork workflows.
With the integration enabled, you can initiate an artwork request from a Finished Good or Packaging Specification and send relevant specification information to WebCenter Go. As the artwork project progresses, you can track its status from TraceGains and bring completed artwork back into the specification.
Key Capabilities
WebCenter Go provides tools to support packaging artwork projects, including:
- Artwork review and approval — Review artwork, add comments, compare versions, and complete approvals.
- Project and task management — Manage artwork projects, tasks, assignments, and progress.
- Document and image management — Maintain supporting files and artwork associated with the project.
- Comply — Support artwork compliance validation using configurable rules.
Artwork in Specification Management
The Artwork area is available within both Packaging and Finished Good specifications.
From the Artwork area, you can:
- Complete a Brief with information about the artwork project.
- Add and manage artwork from the Artworks tab.
- Create and track WebCenter Go artwork requests from the Requests tab.
From TraceGains, you can also track the status of your artwork request and add completed artwork back to the specification.
How to Create an Artwork Request
Step 1: Complete the Brief
Before creating an artwork request, complete the Brief to provide the artwork and packaging teams with important information about the project.
The Brief can include the project purpose, target launch date, and sustainability goals or objectives.
When you're finished, select Save Brief.
Step 2: Add and Manage Artwork
From the Artworks tab, you can add artwork associated with the specification.
Under Add Artwork, choose the appropriate source:
- From Artwork Requests — Add artwork from a completed artwork request.
- From Documents — Add artwork from an existing document.
- From Image Attributes — Add artwork from an image attribute.
- Upload Artwork — Upload an artwork file.
If applicable, select Associate Component Artwork to add artwork associated with a component.
Step 3: Create an Artwork Request
Select the Requests sub-tab. If an artwork request has not yet been created, select Request New Artwork.
The Generate Artwork Request workflow opens and guides you through three stages:
1. Create Project
Complete the applicable project information.
When you're finished, select Next.
2. Request Details
Complete the applicable information for your artwork request.
When you're finished, select Next.
3. Review & Submit
Review the project and request information to make sure everything is correct.
When you're ready to send the request to WebCenter Go, select Submit.
What Happens After You Submit a Request?
After you submit an artwork request, the request is sent to WebCenter Go, where the artwork project can be managed.
The information you selected in TraceGains is included with the request, such as the Brief, reference files, and applicable specification information.
Track Your Artwork Request
You can track the progress of your artwork request from the Requests tab in TraceGains.
As work progresses in WebCenter Go, the request status is updated in TraceGains. For example, the status can change to Active while the artwork project is in progress and Completed when the project is finished.
Add Completed Artwork to the Specification
Once the artwork project is complete, return to the Artworks tab.
Select From Artwork Requests to add the completed artwork to the specification. The artwork is then available with the other artwork associated with the specification.
Access WebCenter Go
WebCenter Go is accessed separately from TraceGains. Your WebCenter Go user account and site are configured by the Esko team.
To access WebCenter Go, sign in with your configured Esko account:
There is no embedded launch option for WebCenter Go within TraceGains.
Working in WebCenter Go
After an artwork request is submitted from TraceGains, the artwork project is managed in WebCenter Go.
In WebCenter Go, you can manage project tasks, review artwork, add comments, compare versions, and complete approvals.
