Supplier Compliance
Expanded Workflow Support for SC-IDP Document Data Extraction
Overview/What’s New?
Supplier Compliance Intelligent Document Processing (SC-IDP) now supports On Data Extraction Workflows for Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and supporting document types. Building on SC-IDP’s existing, AI-powered COA extraction capabilities, this enhancement allows Workflow logic and supported follow-up actions to run as part of document data extraction processing.
Who will use it?
This enhancement is intended for SC-IDP administrators and quality/regulatory compliance teams that want to apply configurable Workflow logic during COA data extraction. It is especially useful for teams that want supported follow-up actions to occur automatically during processing rather than handling each extracted document through manual steps.
What has changed?
When configuring this type of Workflow, users must select “COA” as the Use and “On Data Extraction” as the Trigger. From here, users can set conditions and configure related actions within Workflow Steps. Once configured, the conditions and steps within the Workflow will be applied each time a COA is received into an SC-IDP enabled site.
Of note: within the extraction attribute selector, available options are restricted to applicable COA, Purchase Order, and Purchase Order Line Number attributes.
Because no corresponding COA record exists when the Workflow runs, options that depend on an existing record are not available.
- Conditions: Select an Attribute and Enter an Expression
- Actions: Set Attribute Value, Run Business Rules, Schedule a Workflow, Go to Workflow, Cancel Scheduled Workflow, Create Related, and Update Related
When a workflow is evaluated, users can access its Workflow Log from the COA Extraction Result. The Log also identifies Extraction Attributes that were unavailable and explains why associated Workflow actions were not taken.
Benefit to users
This enhancement extends SC-IDP automation beyond data extraction by allowing supported Workflow logic and follow-up actions to run during initial COA document processing. It also gives administrators and support teams clearer information when a Workflow fails a condition or cannot take an expected action by providing detailed Log info if a Workflow fails to execute. Overall, this update expands the scope of intelligent document Workflow automation to COAs and supporting documents in Supplier Compliance, allowing SC-IDP customers to configure document data extraction logic and related conditional actions.
Document Intelligence
Use Extraction Result Status in Workflow Conditions
Overview/What’s New?
Document “On Data Extraction” Workflows for TraceGains Document Intelligence (DI) and Supplier Compliance Intelligent Document Processing (SC-IDP) can now use the Extraction Result Status (Configuration > Processing > Results Grid) as a condition in Workflow. This update allows DI and SC-IDP users to set the processing result status value as a condition in Workflow, creating notifications and taking actions based on the status of an individual document processing result.
Who will use it?
This enhancement is intended for Document Intelligence (DI) and SC-IDP administrators and teams that want to trigger automated notifications and/or follow-up actions dynamically based on the outcome of a document data extraction processing result.
What has changed?
In Document Intelligence and SC-IDP data extraction Workflows, users can add Extraction Result Status to Workflow as a condition and define supported actions for matching outcomes. For example, if there is an issue during data extraction processing, such as an attribute extraction error, users can configure a notification email in Workflow based on the failed Extraction Result Status, automatically notifying key users of the processing error and allowing for faster resolution of data extraction issues as they occur.
Benefit to users
This enhancement helps teams build more responsive document/data review flows by connecting extraction processing result statuses to conditional Workflow actions. This bridge allows users to quickly and automatically get notified and act accordingly based on the Extraction Result Status. Overall, this update makes document processing more intelligent and easier for users to manage exceptions, such as data processing errors, by allowing Extraction Result Status to guide decisions via Workflow across both Document Intelligence and SC-IDP.
Highlight Extracted Values in the Document Viewer
Overview/What’s New?
For SC-IDP and Document Intelligence customers, when reviewing an Extraction Result in Configuration > Data Extraction > Processing > Results > Edit Result, hovering or clicking on the extracted value of an Extraction Attribute will highlight the corresponding value in the adjacent Document Text viewer. This new feature allows users to quickly compare and verify extracted values against the processed document, streamlining the manual document review process and instilling trust.
Note: this feature does not work when the “Document Viewer” pane is selected. Users must select the “Document Text” viewer to see highlighted values as they hover or click on an Extraction Attribute value.
Who will use it?
This enhancement is intended for SC-IDP and Document Intelligence users who process high volumes of documents and manually review data for validity on a regular or exceptions-based cadence.
What has changed?
Hovering or clicking on the extracted value of an Extraction Attribute now automatically highlights where, in the Document Text viewer pane, the extracted value exists on the processed document. On hover or click of an extracted value, the corresponding value will highlight and/or scroll to highlight, in yellow, in the adjacent Document Text viewer pane. Hovering on a value will highlight it in the Document Text viewer until hovering away, whereas clicking on an extracted value will maintain the highlight behavior until clicking away from the selected value.
Benefit to users
This update reduces the effort needed to manually verify extracted values by making the source document text easier to find, helping reviewers complete document data validation and verification tasks more quickly and accurately. Overall, this enhancement helps reviewers verify extracted values more efficiently by making the connection between extraction results and the source document easier to see.
QA Playbook Configuration Updates
Overview/What’s New?
For Document Intelligence users, QA Playbooks can now be created and saved in AI Settings, per supported Document Type, without requiring Extraction Attributes to also be configured. This allows users to apply data processing governance to documents via QA Playbook Rules, on a per Document Type basis, without having to map and extract attribute values into records.
Who will use it?
This enhancement is intended for Document Intelligence administrators who configure QA Playbooks to manage and apply document data governance and validation rules at the time data is extracted from a given Document Type. This is particularly applicable if customers want to automatically apply data governance, at time of processing, to documents via QA Playbook Rules, but do not want or need to map extraction attributes and write those values to a record.
What has changed?
Previously, in AI Settings, Extraction Attribute(s) were required to be configured before the setting could be saved. Now, administrators can create an AI Setting for a supported document type, apply QA Playbook Rules, and click Save without having to configure at least one Extraction Attribute.
Benefit to users
This update reduces configuration setup dependencies by allowing teams to begin configuring and applying QA Playbooks to Document Types in AI Settings without the need to configure mapped Extraction Attributes if they are not needed. Overall, this enhancement allows teams to quickly apply QA Playbooks in AI Settings, per Document Type, without having to map Extraction Attributes, if/as needed.
